Raising the Roof

What delay? Less than a week after the Big Boom our courageous construction workers are at it again. I’m glad that it’s not my job to sit in the middle of that rafter.

What could have been a major casualty to men and building caused relatively little damage. Thank goodness for insurance. A structural engineer will assess the damage and then repairs will be made.
The Big Boom

When the boom truck tipped over it was gossip heard around all of Lakeview. It even made the evening news! The “Daily News” proclaimed it as yet ‘Another Delay” in the library construction.

…elevator shafted that is. The brick tower in this picture is where the service elevator to the basement is located. It sure beats carrying all that storage items up and down the stairs.

It’s a wet and rainy day but we were very pleased to see the guys out sorting and moving the roof joists around and getting ready to raise the roof!
