reversed entry

I know I’ve mentioned it before but one of the many things I’m looking forward to in the new library is the amount of natural light we will have. If you are familiar with our current location the only window we have is in the very front.
The new entry will shed a lot of light and also be right by the circulation desk. The only downfall of all this glorious light is that someone has to wash those windows!

Those of you familiar with the current TDL facilities know that quiet is not something you often hear. The room in this picture will be an adult reading room where magazines and newspapers will be available and you can find a quiet place to read.

Entering the front doors of the new library will bring you directly to the circulation and information desk. This will provide easy access for your returns and your information questions. It sure beats the scavenger hunt you go on to find us at our old location.

…or truck, van, SUV, whatever you want to drive to the library. We will also be close enough for you to stroll to the library if you live in the Village of Lakeview. This is the drive located off of Lincoln Ave. Won’t it be nice to have a parking lot for the library? No more fighting for spaces on the street.

Things are moving along nicely now but it will still be several months before we are ready to move in. With warmer weather and the ground drying up things are taking shape. If you are still wanting to order engraved brick/pavers for the landscaping you need to order soon. The deadline will be in just a few weeks. Call the library for more information.

Find the drop boxes

An extra service that we will be offering at the new location is a drive up drop box. These drop boxes will accept print and audio/visual materials in separate boxes reducing damage to materials.
These drop boxes are on the South side of the building facing the parking lot.
